Stuart was the son of George C Johnson who bought into PIW in circa 1932. Stuart was President and managing director of Peninsula Iron Works until 1960-1988 when he relinquished control to his wife Janet Johnson. Stuart Designed the Peninsula Veneer Hog, Peninsula Sander, Peninsula Scissor Lift, and many other products and services. He was a master craftsman and retired to his gun smithing work in his later Years.
Stuart Graduated from Benson Polytech, studied @ Vanport College, and PSU. Served in the US Navy for 5 years during the Korean war. Stuart sponsored the Rick Tieser award/scholarship at Benson for 20 years.
Stuart is survived by his wife Janet Johnson, three son’s Matt, Dave, James. and daughter Kristen.
